A5. Wudang Taichi – Sanfeng Taichi Sword

After inventing Taichi Boxing, Grand Master Zhang Sanfeng created the Taichi Swordsmanship, which has become the necessary technique to be learned by the masters generation after generation. Having Taichi Boxing’s nimble, soft and continuing features, it is elegant, unconventional and vivid. The practice requires even stretching and has quite a lasting charm. Consolidating the advantages of other swordsmanship, it contains 13 postures, i.e., split, stab, stir, sweep, poke, hang, skim, stir, smear, intercept, hit, and lift. It also combines Tao’s health preservation method. When practicing, the sword follows the body and the Qi follows the mind. By doing this, one’s body can be improved both internally and externally. It is also good for self-defense.
