E03. Chen Style Taichi –  The Old Form 2

elementary: 4 months; intermediate: 2 months

The Old Form 2 is also called Cannon Boxing as it stress hardness affiliated with softness. The motion is carried out at one go and the keys are: vibrate the legs for striking, fight and move fast, scurry and jump, bounce and rouse vivaciously.

The spirit of the powerful movement looks like a monstrous snake leaving its lair, a fierce tiger springing down from the mountain, a rampant dragon getting to the sea or a mighty lion fluffing its hair.

The keys of the practice are: once move, the whole body moves; coordination of internal and external; relaxing, calm and firm; lead the body with qi; set the waist as the axle; lead the force with the arms.

This boxing is fast, hard and fierce, which are performed by the principal actions of pulling down, splitting, elbowing, body strike, and affiliated by the secondary actions of warding off and rolling back.  The prerequisite of learning this boxing is be good in the Old Form 1.
