C7. Wudang Five Animals Movements
3 months
The Five Animals Movements was invented by Huatuo, a famous herbal medicine practitioner of the Three Kingdoms Era. Based on the ancient theory of Daoyin exercise, breathing, and body extension, Huatuo studied the movements of tiger, deer, bear, monkey and bird to formulate the practice which concerns the functions of human being’s organ, meridians and Qi-blood. As the movement contains medical treatment, it is effective in health care and recovery from illness. It features the coordination of mind concentration, breathing adjustment, movements and shapes. Long-term practice can strengthen the physique, prevent the practitioners from illness, and prolong life. It is good for smoothing the meridians, harmonizing Qi and blood, motivating muscles and bones and lubricating the joints. Tiger movement manages the liver to adjust the Qi and relax the muscles and joints. Deer movement manages the kidney to improve the Qi and strengthen the waist. Bear movement manages the spleen and stomach to intensify the density of the four limbs and the muscles. Monkey movement manages the heart to stimulate wisdom. Bird movement manages the lungs to relax the chest and adjust the Qi mechanism.
