D07. Wudang Taiyi Whisk

The whisk is a special weapon of Taoist. It is said that those holding a whisk are not ordinary people. In the Taoist circle, the whisk represents removing the worldly affinity and be free from the mortal life. It can be used as a whisk or as a weapon for self-defense. The Taiyi Whisk is a soft weapon which movement styles unconventionally with clear-cut tough-soft techniques and compact postures. When waving, it resembles a horse elegantly and gracefully racing in the sky. The flaring and leaping movements are flexible and changeable. It characterizes the motion of knife, sword, whip, and dart. Its key techniques are winding, pulling, shaking, sweeping, stabbing, and scooping. When practicing, it requires internal integration, i.e. shape-mind coordination, mind-Qi coordination and Qi-spirit coordination as well as external integration i.e. body-whisk coordination. The practice of Taiyi Whisk is effective in fitness, self- defense and body flexibility. It is most welcomed by the learners.
