C7. Wudang Nourishing Life Practice – Taoist Eight Brocade Practice, Standing Practice, Intermediate Sitting Practice, High Level Danfang Eight Brocade Practice (internal alchemy ) (5 months)
This qigong is in three levels: the elementary level is the standing form, the intermediate level is the sitting form and the highest level is the Danfang Eight Brocade Practice (internal alchemy).
Eight Brocade Practice was invented by Zhongli Quan, a general of the Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220). Then, it passed on generation to generation. In Song Dynasty (960-1279), it was further promoted by Chen Bo and Wang Chongyang, the two Taoist masters. As one of the ancient Taoist health preservation methods, it is recorded in the Daozang (the most important classics of Taoism).
Formed by eight movements, the simple and easy-to-learn method is effective in smoothing the meridians and qi-blood as well as treating certain organs resulting in the improvement of breathing system, force of the upper/lower limbs, balancing ability, joint system, nerve system, cardiovascular system, coronary artery, osteoporosis and the immunity.
Long-term practice can strengthen the physique and prolong life expectancy. It is especially good for the middle-ages, elderly, and unhealthy people with chronic disease, depression and anxiety disorder.
The successful practitioners of the immediate and highest levels will be able to smooth the vital energy circle and harmonize all the meridians.
