D8. Wudang Kungfu –  Taiyi Whisk (4 months)

The whisk is a special weapon of Taoist. The adage says that those holding a whisk are not ordinary people. In the Taoist circle, the whisk represents removing the worldly affinity and be free from the mortal life.

The Taiyi Whisk is a soft weapon which movement styles unconventionally with clear-cut tough-soft techniques and compact postures.

Characterised with the motion of knife, sword, whip, and dart, its key techniques are winding, pulling, shaking, sweeping, stabbing, and scooping..

When practicing, it requires the Six Mixtures (posture & consciousness, and consciousness & qi, and qi & spirit) and the coordination of the body and the whisk. The practice of Taiyi Whisk is effective in fitness, self- defence, and body flexibility.
